KIM NOVAK TO MAKE SPECIAL LA APPEARANCE--SOLD OUT

My favorite movie star of all time, Kim Novak, will be at the American Cinematheque's celebration honoring her and Sony's release of "The Kim Novak Collection" boxed set on July 30th at Egyptian Theatre. They will be screening her movies for four days, but opening night is "Bell, Book & Candle," followed by a Q&A with Kim. She loves that movie. After the Q&A they will show "Pal Joey." (She didn't enjoy playing dumb blonde Linda English and will readily tell you.) Her Vanity Fair story will be in the October magazine. It's VERY rare for her to leave her ranch, but she's proud of her work and the recognition it continues to get, and is pleased with the "Collection."

JOAN RIVERS IN LA

Joan is here for five weeks shooting her new reality series for WE. Over this weekend she has been doing stand-up shows at Catalina Bar & Grill, which were also shot for WE. All I can tell you is that her new material featuring Anne Frank, Mother Teresa, and Mel Gibson---is unbelievably hilarious. Look for her to continue to do her act around LA. When she's in NY she does a show in a club every Wednesday to try out new material and "keep fresh."

PROJECT SAVE OUT SURF BENEFIT

Actress Tanna Frederick, founder of Save Our Surf, along with co-chairs PT Townend and Shaun Thomson hosted a wonderful benefit honoring the first anniversary of the charity. Project Save Our Surf benefits our oceans and preserving the marine eco-systems, and many well-known surfers and celebrities are members. The benefit was held on the Santa Monica Pier, and everyone has a blast.

LESLEY ANN WARREN--ALWAYS OUR CINDERELLA

Lesley Ann Warren was feted by the Paley Center for Media on the 45th anniversary of the airing of her iconic "Cinderella." Charles Dubin, the show's director was also there and it was a thrilling evening. Letters were read to Lesley from Lee Daniels of "Precious," and Rob Marshall of "Chicago" and "Nine" expressing their love for her and how her performance has permanently influenced their lives. Lesley's husband, Ron Taft, mother Margo, brother Richard, daughter-in-law Daniella Peters, and "In Plain Sight" creator/exec prod David Maples were all there cheering for her. Congratulations, Lesley!!!!! AND HOW YOUNG AND GORGEOUS DOES SHE LOOK????!!!!!

AU REVOIR, JULIE ARASKOG

Our dear friend Julie Araskog is "temporarily" leaving Los Angeles to go to law school at Notre Dame in South Bed. This is a really big deal, because Julie is "going for it" in her 40s. She got accepted and some of the most prestigious law schools in the country, and she's going to specialize in human rights law. It wasn't good enough for Julie to give time and money to help people. Now she'll be able to take their cases and change lives. Her going away party in the private room of Mr. Chow was a true love fest. Sending Julie off with love were Linda Thompson, Natalie Cole, Tracy Danza, Danielle Del, Kimberly Emerson, Alexandra Dwek, Irena Medavoy, Laurie Holden (who also got accepted to Columbia) Anne Kopelson, Barbara Davis, Kathy Hilton, Lauren King, Dagny Dubelko, Cheryl Woodcock, Donna Antebi, Joanie Alrich, Pam McMahon, et. al. Enjoy the photos......

GO SEE MY FRIEND LYNN ROTH'S MOVIE "THE LITTLE TRAITOR"

Lynn is really talented, and it's rare for a woman to write, produce and direct her own film. The fact that we sing Carols together each Christmas Eve does not influence my desire to help her! It's a terrific movie starring Alfred Molina.
