I WANT "AMERICAN IDOL" TO COME BACK ON NBC--WITH CHANGES

NBC HAS AN OVERALL DEAL WITH SIMON COWELL. THEY ARE ALSO TALKING TO SIMON FULLER, THE CREATOR OF "AMERICAN IDOL."

HERE'S WHAT SHOULD HAPPEN TO MAKE IT WORK---

• Simon Cowell MUST return as lead judge. His wit and sarcasm are mandatory for success
• In my opinion, Ryan Seacrest should NOT return. In the last couple of seasons he looked passe and almost silly. He's nice and he's smart, but this is where the change should be.

• NBC should not do as many seasons of "The Voice."
• NBC needs to recognize that "The Voice" has NEVER had a winner who became a star.
