I CAN'T WATCH OUR POLITICAL PROCESS ANY MORE. IT'S A TOXIC CESSPOOL

              WHO IS THIS GUY?????

It's former president, Zachary Taylor. I'm putting his picture up first because no one alive today talks about him or cares about him. He's just a symbol. There was no "Meet the Press." We have no clue as to who he really was. But I'll guarantee you one thing, he lied like every president or presidential candidate before or after him.

NO ONE WHO RISES TO THE LEVEL NEEDED TO GET TO THE PRESIDENCY IS CLEAN. NO ONE. IT IS IMPOSSIBLE.

Herbert Hoover

These pictures are not picked for some kind of personal statement. They are just of powerful people.

And you can thrown in George Washington, too.
Behind-the-scenes deals are made. Money men are satisfied. The Electoral College is outdated. There should be no campaign money needed. Airwaves should be free.

But, I want to bring the focus back to the main issue, not campaign finance reform.

I am sick and tired of our own electorate actually drinking any kind of Kool-Aid and really believing in the promises of hope and a better value system from our leaders. They all lie to get elected. They lie when they are in office.

I'm not saying who I like or don't even like at his point in this election year.  JFK stole the election by rigging the balloting in Chicago. George W. Bush stole it from Al Gore. Obama bused in people from Illinois to sneak into the Iowa caucases to kill Hillary off in 2008. That was paid for by the back-room money boys who didn't want her because she wouldn't play nice with them.

LIES...AND DEALS.....LIES...AND DEALS....LIES....AND DEALS

And, by the way, I accept the lying. There's no other choice. With what we have to pick from, I will choose the person with the best brain and experience. That's the only logical choice. I also want a killer in there who will keep us safe from terrorists. That's my combo---brains, and don't you screw with the USA.

The Sunday news shows, pundits, debates---it's all theatre. You may as well be watching the Rockettes. None of it means anything.

Loyal, lowly campaign workers in each county are just being used by each party waving their own flag. It's the biggest sham in the world. Those little workers have no clue.

I'm not going to watch any of this anymore. I have my candidate and that's it. It's a waste of time and energy to have any other involvement.

AND, THE BIG WINNER OF CAMPAIGN 2016-2017---MEGYN KELLY.

WHY WOULD USHER THINK HIS SCRAWNY, SKINNY BODY IS ATTRACTIVE?

Stupid, egotistical male thinking strikes again.

ALEC BALDWIN---TOTAL CAREER SELF-DESTRUCTION--HE'S HOSTING "THE MATCH GAME" NOW

LOOK AT THESE PICTURES. REMEMBER HIS PROMISE; HIS TALENT; HIS SEXINESS

He really had something special.

I'm not talking about visual aging. It happens to everyone---even though his excesses have made him "King of Bloat." It's not about his acting talent either. What a talent he is! His movie and television work is to be greatly admired.

His temper, abuse, and rage are not.

But that's not what I'm talking about.

ALEC BALDWIN IS HOSTING A SUMMER RE-DO OF "THE MATCH GAME."

That isn't quite like Jack Nicholson hosting, "Let's Make Deal." I get that. Jack's career is in a different stratosphere. But at one point, Alec Baldwin had a shot for that kind of respect.

Alec's company is producing "Match Game," so his company will make good money. But, really?
Is money so important that Alec will now go down in his career history as a silly, greedy, valueless fool?

What a terrible decision. What a shame. What a waste

THE GOOD MORNING AMERICA MESS----WHAT WENT WRONG

I HAVE BEEN WATCHING "GOOD MORNING. AMERICA" SINCE ITS INCEPTION.

I have always preferred its friendlier, livelier approach, plus, I really don't like Matt Lauer. TODAY got really boring after Katie Couric and Meredith Viera left. Poor Ann Curry, who, in my opinion deserved the promotion just because she was sitting on the side-lines like a good trouper waiting for her turn, was a not-surprising disaster in the co-host job. Her energy is always flat, and it contributed to the downfall. Sad.

Geroge Stephanopoulous, Diane Sawyer and Robin Roberts were pure magic, and TODAY didn't stand a chance. And even when Diane left, Robin and George were dynamite. Add to that Josh Elliott, and Sam Champion, and it was pure gold. Adding Lara Spencer was not a great idea. I don't like the silly pop news twit she's forced to play. Is that who she really is? I don't know, but she's annoying.

AND THEN ALL HELL BROKE LOOSE.

Sam Champion wanted to be a bigger star and get more money, so he left to go to the Weather Channel. HAVE WE EVER HEARD FROM HIM AGAIN? Stupid move. He went into obscurity. And, interestingly enough, he came back a few times to stand in for new-mom Ginger Zee, and he's lost his magic. He's truly not aging well and looks buffoon-like with his over-botoxed face.
Ginger Zee

Sam Champion was so beloved when he left, that Ginger Zee stepped into a minefield. She was a bad hire. There's no magic or chemistry between her and the camera. Total fail. And, yes I know she's on DANCING WITH THE STARS, now and she's a good dancer--but she falls short of the magic every time. Case closed. She actually seems like a very nice person with a beautiful family. She just needs a different job.

Here is Josh Elliott, who was the newsreader when GMA was at its height. He was fabulous, and it was very clear that he wanted George's job. Instead of being patient, he jumped ship to go to NBC, where he, too, languished in obscurity. Josh and Sam leaving were two of the dumbest moves I've ever seen by on-air talent.

When Josh left, Amy Robach came in as a news reader and I love her.
She has total star magic and should stay on as long as she wants. I know ABC, this time, is smart enough to make it worth her while.

THE FINAL VISUAL RESULT OF ALL THIS TURMOIL, IS THAT YOU HAD ALL WOMEN ON GMA AND GEORGE.  Honestly, it just didn't look right. There should always be a balance. George looked like a mascot at a bridal shower every day.

The ratings started to fall. The audience missed "the family." GMA became flat, and TODAY started copying the GMA successful style. Savannah Guthrie moved into Ann Curry's seat; TODAY got new graphics, sets, music, producers, more on-air entertaining talent. They began booking lots of big stars every day. You could look at the newspaper and read:

TODAY--Guests Robert DeNiro, Lady Gaga, Kerry Washington

GMA--Candace Cameron Bure and flower arranging.

WHICH SHOW WOULD YOU WATCH? It happened and it's still happening almost every day.

Side Note: The best morning show is CBS This Morning with Charlie, Nora, and Gayle. Its ratings are on the rise. It will never be No. 1, but its more serious, intelligent tone is now attracting more and more viewers every day. GMA and TODAY are taking notice. Both shows now opening with a more serious ten-minute segment.

ENTER MICHAEL STRAHAN ON GMA.

He looked like a deer caught in the headlights for months. He didn't know what to do with them, and they didn't know what to do with him.
Let me say here and now that I think he's a perfect, made-for-TV star, and I wanted him to be the co-host for Kelly Ripa. But, after he got that job, I saw him become full of himself and try to over-shadow her. Rude and sneaky and ungrateful.

I'm glad he's leaving LIVE. Kelly is all I care about, and I'm happy she stood up to ABC and their rude, women-are second-class-citizens treatment of her in this situation. She's going to be fine, and so is Michael. I'll be watching LIVE as long as she's on.

I think Michael will help the balance at GMA, and they are figuring out how to use him the everyone's best advantage.

But GMA needs more fixing. Fire Ginger Zee right now and replace her with Rob Marciano, the hunk from Weekend GMA.

Again. Star quality.

GMA has lost its mojo.

I love Robin and George so much, but I'm going to have to say goodbye to GMA for now. I'm sorry to say goodbye to Amy, too. But I can't deal with Lara and Ginger, and I really have a bad taste in my mouth from Starhan's obvious greed.

Can't do Matt Lauer either. So welcome CBS THIS MORNING and MORNING JOE. I'm all yours.

REMEMBER: please go to   www.suecameron.net for my blog to see the Leslie Van Houten Story

MANSON GIRL LESLIE VAN HOUTEN SHOULD GO FREE

MANSON GIRL LESLIE VAN HOUTEN SHOULD GO FREE

I am working on a book right now about all the interesting people I've ever met. The Manson Girls take up an entire chapter. For a short version here, I was asked to go speak for Career Day at the Women's Prison at Frontera, California in the mid-70s. I guess the warden thought my success as a Hollywood columnist would help stimulate the prisoners to want to become something. The auditorium where I spoke was full. When my speech was over the warden asks me if I would "go meet some special prisoners." I said, "Sure." As we were walking across the grounds, he told me they were the Manson Girls. I stopped dead in my tracks. I told him the I had just seen Sharon Tate the week before the murders and I would never say yes to talking to people who killed her.
Then, the reporter in me took hold. "On second thought, I'll do it."
I was led to a special cement house all by itself on the grounds. There were guards in front. The yard was completely fenced in, including a top. It looked like a wire bubble. I saw the worn circular path in the grass where they must walk in circles every day.
I entered a foyer with more guards, and was told to take off all jewelry, valuables, my purse, anything sharp, and leave it with the guards. Inside of me I was freaking out. A steel door opened and I entered a reception area. When that door slammed behind me I thought I was never getting out and I broke out in a cold sweat.
Sitting on a bench was a beautiful young girl wearing a tennis sweater, jeans, and Gucci loafers. She had long, thick, brown hair, a full-lipped wide smile, and sweet eyes. IT WAS LESLIE VAN HOUTEN. I thought she was a former USC sorority girl from my class. I couldn't believe it. I had on Gucci loafers, too, so we laughed about it. Talking to her was easy and natural. There wasn't an ounce of anything scary or dangerous. As wild as it seems, I thought we could be friends.
Quickly, Susan Atkins and Patricia Krenwinkle appeared. Both were in prison garb. Susan Atkins has crazy eyes and looked at me like she'd cut me dead if I moved a muscle. Patricia Krenwinkle was cold and tough, but it was clear that Atkins was the more dangerous one. Atkins looked completely deranged.
I ended up visiting Leslie many times through the years. She told me that she ran away from home, after being named the Homecoming Queen, because her parents were too strict, especially her father. She was just one of those runaway kids who ended up in San Francisco. She said she'd really missed her father when she'd run away, and was very lonely.
"One night I was invited to a party and I saw the nice, clean-shaven young man playing the guitar and singing 'The Shadow of Your Smile.' He looked right at me and asked me to sit with him. He was older than most of the kids, and he just made me feel safe," said Leslie.
CUT TO: Leslie and all the others are at the Manson Ranch. Every day Manson makes them line up for the morning LSD. Same thing at night. "I never knew where I was or what was real," explained Leslie.
The day after the Tate Murders, Leslie heard through the grapevine that "something bad had happened." SHE WAS NEVER AT THE TATE MURDERS, A FACE THAT PEOPLE FORGET.
The next night Manson told her to go with Tex Watson and Pat and Susan. She didn't want to go. "We ended up at some house with a boat in front of it. Tex made us all go in and told us to kill whoever was inside. I stayed in the kitchen hoping to not get involved. I remember studying the colors in the refrigerator. We all were on LSD," said Leslie. "Tex came in and told me that Charlie told him that if I didn't kill someone that Tex was going to kill me. I was terrified and was pushed down the hall."
According to Leslie, she saw Mrs. LaBianca on the floor and thought she was dead. Tex was watching so she picked up a knife and stabbed her repeatedly. Leslie told me the only way she could keep doing it was because she believed Mrs. LaBianca was dead, and she did not want to die, too.
Leslie has been a model prisoner and has earned more than one college degree. She has never been a discipline problem and is horrified by what happened. She told me that, at one point, the prison doctors had to show her photos of Mrs. LaBianca's body just to have her remember, because she'd been on so much LSD. She lives with pain and regret every second of every day.
Leslie Van Houten has paid her debt to society in an exemplary way. I understand that LaBianca family members are upset. I wish they would meet her. Whether or not Leslie had been there the night of the murders, the LaBiancas would have been killed by the other people who went.
More than anything else, the story of Leslie Van Houten, because she was such a legitimate "good girl" who ran away because was "cool," shows the tragedy that can happen when parents and children don't communicate.
Let's see what Jerry Brown does.
And you can read my book(when I finish writing it, obviously) to hear all the rest of the Leslie stories as well as how much Patricia Krenwinkle has changed for the better, and the many myths and truths about the Manson Murders that have needed to be straightened out once and for all.
Susan Atkins died in prison. Good. That was as it should be.
