A GOOD VISUAL FOR MATT NOW--NO SURPRISE

KNEW THOSE SHOES WERE GOING TO DROP

MATT LAUER---FINALLY

                MATT LAUER HAS BEEN CAUGHT.
                  I'VE WAITED YEARS FOR THIS.

I'm not rejoicing, because innocent people have been hurt, and his family will be affected. But, let me just say that I doubt that this is a surprise to his wife. "Just my opinion."

I also think that Ann Curry might be having a good day. Not because she was a victim of sexual harassment (that I know of), but because she was a victim of network "star politics and power plays."

This was a long time coming. It's done.

I'm sorry for his genuine NBC friends. I know he has also used his position to do a lot of good. It's always a mixed bag, but he crossed the line....and more than once.

PALM SPRINGS ANNUAL ANNENBERG THEATRE GALA

A GREAT, BIG THANK YOU TO JOHN MONAGHAN, board member of the Palm Springs Museum, for inviting all of us to the beautiful gala.

GLEE and Broadway's Matthew Morrison did his concert for us in the theatre, and then we adjourned to the Museum where Spencer's Restaurant catered spectacularly.

I just loved our table, and, on more than one occasion, someone would come by and say, "The laughs coming from here are so loud. You are having the best time in the place." Yes, we were.

THANKSGIVING AT LUCIE AND LARRY'S

IT'S ALWAYS REALLY FUN, BUT THIS YEAR
                       IT WAS OFF THE CHARTS!!!!!

Lucie's food and decor were beyond gorgeous. I must say, that her grandma Dede's dressing recipe is the greatest I've ever had. Everyone made incredible dishes, all unforgettable. My award goes to Michael Thomas' Crown Pork Roast.

Each place card Lucie did was a tiny pine cone with the guest's picture set in it

ANOTHER LA WHIRLWIND

HAPPY 40TH BIRTHDAY, JANE MONHEIT!!!!!

Jane was totally surprised when she walked into a room of friends hiding in the back of a friend's living room. One by one, we came out and greeted her. "Everyone I love is in this room!" said Jane excitedly.

Jane and her son, Jack, LOVE the cake. Jack decided to make a face....

THE NEXT NIGHT IT WAS THE JOELY FISHER-BRAD GARRETT INTERVIEW BOOK SIGNING AT BARNES AND NOBLE AT THE GROVE.

Joely and her whole family were in New York getting ready for Thanksgiving, along with Joely doing press for her book, GROWING UP FISHER. She literally flew to LA, went to The Grove, did the signing, and went back to the airport!

Joely and Brad Garrett became close when they both starred in TIL DEATH. Together, they are very dangerous.

The Barnes and Noble employees said it was the funniest, most raucous signing they'd ever had in over 150 of them!!! I can't even tell you  all the things Brad said, and Joely is his perfect foil.

Yours truly, Joely, and Elizabeth Keener

WHY WOULD I THANK HARVEY WEINSTEIN?

HERE'S WHY I WOULD THANK HARVEY----

OINK

The other day I spoke at the Palm Springs Women in Film Glass Ceiling Awards luncheon. Since I am the last living founder of Women in Film, I had a lot to say. I wondered whether or not I should mention Harvey, but I just went for it:

"Oh, yes. It may sound strange but I want to thank Harvey Weinstein. Yes, we all now he's a pig (my free opinion), but think about it for a second.......

Because of all the alleged incidents coming out, and the over 50 (?) women telling their stories about him, as well as all the others coming out against various other powerful figures, Harvey has opened the floodgates and provided a safe haven for us to speak about our evidence, our truths. Because of Harvey, for the first time, I believe we really have the power to change things. We have the media's attention and are running with it.

Will there always be pigs preying on young actresses and actors? Yes. But, more women and men will stand up and not be afraid; more companies will write stronger morals clauses and actually enforce them; and more vile power-hungry, homely predators will be PUT AWAY.

So, thanks, Harvey. And, I hope you are the first to go to jail.

THE RIDICULOUS KATHY GRIFFIN-ANDY COHEN FEUD

LET'S ALL TAKE A LOOK AT THIS AGAIN....

Pay attention, Kathy--THIS is why your career is deservedly in the toilet. CNN fired you from the New Year's Eve Show with Anderson Cooper for this photo. And now, because CNN replaced you with Anderson's best friend, Andy Cohen, you are saying nasty things about him? You are blaming this result of your behavior on him?????

Have you ever heard of the word responsibility? Or how about the phrase "consequences for your actions?"

Andy has risen above and is ignoring you after his short statement.

Go away, Kathy. You brought all of this on yourself.

LIZ SMITH---YOU WERE SO COOL!

         GOD BLESS YOU, LIZ SMITH

You had the extra-long, delicious, full ride of life. Thanks for the dinners, the dishing and the dreams.

WHAT HAS OUR WORLD COME TO?

HERE'S WHAT HAPPENED TODAY. I WENT TO A MOVIE.

SOUNDS INNOCENT ENOUGH...........

I know we live in a new, violent time. You watch people being shot or mowed down almost weekly now. You silently say, 'Thank God it didn't happen to me. You go to bed thinking you're OK.'

And then you go to a movie in a public theatre.

The lights go out and the previews start. Suddenly something on your right catches your eye. It's a man with white hair who seems to be walking drunk. He stands right the middle of the aisle for a long time, and then he takes a seat on the aisle. He starts to fidget. He leaves a package on the seat and then walks all the way across the front of the screen and leaves.

The movie starts. I cannot pay any attention to it. Is that a bomb in the seat? Why did he leave? Is he coming back? Wait. There he is coming from the the side of the theatre. He's back. Maybe it wasn't a bomb.

I try to watch the movie, but I can't. I keep watching him nervously squirm in his seat.

I turn around because I hear a noise behind me. I realize I hadn't checked out the people behind me. I sink low in my seat so my head is not a visible target. I think to myself, 'My God, is this what my life has come to?'

I start to get involved in the movie.

But then, I see a small red light near the screen. Uh oh. Is that a laser beam from a high-powered rifle? I watch it go behind the curtain and then appear again. It was an usher.

I thought about just getting up and going home and never going to a movie theatre again, considering what the nightly news has done to my brain.

I took and breath and watched the movie. I made it out alive. Is it worth the anxiety anymore?

LA TRIP PART ONE

ALWAYS AN ADVENTURE.......

First stop: The Grill on the Alley with Jessica Walter

Jessica is in LA shooting the award-winning ARRESTED DEVELOPMENT for Netflix. I love the show and think she's incredible in it. Her characterization of Lucille Bluth should be studied by young actors as a blueprint for brilliant comedy.

"I'm so proud of the show," said Jessica. "I'm so impressed that Mitch Hurwitz and our writers have given Lucille a relationship with a man not much younger than she. It's an emphasis on friendship and fun companionship and not that cliche cougar and pool boy story. 'Arrested Development' made its debut in 2003 and has totally changed TV. All of today's unique shows followed our lead."

Best whitefish ever

Second stop: Taverna Tony and Malibu Country Mart for Joely Fisher's "family birthday" celebration.

As I parked my car and got out I recognized a voice instantly. It was Jerry Seinfeld having coffee with a buddy. Then Ryan Phillippe walked by looking for a chicken salad sandwich. Sundays are HOT in Malibu.

Joely turned 50 on Oct. 29th, and she wanted to spend the day with family. Her "blow-out" party is tomorrow night in Venice. She chose Taverna Tony because it has been the site of many family celebrations through the years.

Joely's husband, Chris Duddy, and Joely hold sister Tricia Leigh's cool present of a 3D, lighted Times Square.

Third stop: Dagny Dubelko's house for a Girls' Lunch
