LUCIE ARNAZ' "LATIN ROOTS" SHOW IN PALM SPRINGS

The huge McCallum Theatre was sold out this past Tuesday for Lucie Arnaz' "Latin Roots" show which pays tribute to the music of her father, Desi Arnaz. After he died she unearthed a treasure trove of his original charts and cassettes of songs he recorded. Under the direction of Musical Director Ron Abel, Lucie put together a knock-out show that covered the early Cuban music, big band from the 40s, nightclubs, Broadway and television.

She moved like a sexy siren, played congas, triangle and trumpet, and sang her heart out with a powerful voice. Film clips of her families' home movies and stills were shown at just the right time, culminating with a drum duet with her father on the famous "Babalu." She got two standing ovations and literally rocked the house!

Lucie reunited with her mother's driver, Frank. He took care of the family for decades.
