OH, FOR GOD'S SAKES......WIMBLEDON PEOPLE

NIKE HAS INTRODUCED SOME NEW TENNIS OUTFITS FOR WOMEN AND SOME OF THE BRITS AT WIMBLEDON ARE COMPLAINING THEY ARE TOO REVEALING. ARE YOU KIDDING ME?

This is how the subtle, and continuing, attacks try to tear down women. You Brits (who voted to leave the EU) are just as stupid about your clothing comments.

RUN TO THE TAPER TO SEE "DISGRACED" BEFORE IT LEAVES

DISGRACED is the most exciting, thought-provoking play I have seen in Los Angeles for YEARS. Of course it was seen on Broadway first. The characters are a successful male Muslim lawyer pretending to be an Indian to get ahead; his WASP  artist wife; the more radical Muslim nephew; the wife's Jewish artists' agent who is married to a black woman.

There are huge issues, of course, and it all explodes at a dinner party. What is so refreshing is that people are not politically correct at all. All the things we keep inside (whether for good or bad) just fly out of people's mouths causing havoc and deep thought.

Performances sensational. Just go. NOW. And don't go alone. I'm not kidding. You will need someone to talk to immediately.

LUCIE ARNAZ AND LARRY LUCKINBILL'S BEAUTIFUL DAUGHTER GETS MARRIED!

THE ADORABLE KATE LUCKINBILL MARRIED THE EQUALLY ADORABLE JEFF CONNER OVER THE WEEKEND AT THE SEATTLE AQUARIUM

This was a joyous occasion that, like most weddings, are also a reunion, as well as a remembrance of shared memories of those who have passed on.

It was really cool to have a wedding in an aquarium on a pier. The setting was so beautiful, and you were constantly entertained by passing fish. There was even an otter feeding event between the wedding and the dinner. I loved it!

Kate Luckinbill and me at the rehearsal dinner which was held at a hip coffee house!

Lucie, Rita Conner, the groom's mother, and Larry Luckinbill, the bride's father

And, on to the wedding...........

Grandpa Desi

Grandma Lucy
The sign-in table featured a 78 record of Desi's that we all signed, as well as photos of them and other beloved family and friends who were there in spirit. The bride walked down the aisle to her grandfather's record of "Made for Each Other." She was also holding a bouquet of her grandmother's favorite flowers.

Marrying with beautiful fish!

Happy Larry!
After Jeff and Kate did a beautiful, romantic Fred and Ginger dance to "Make Someone Happy" (Kate's grandmother's favorite song), Larry cut in and they did a funny fabulous routine to a Blues Traveler song that was choreographed by Lucie. It was sensational.

And, that's not all. At one point, Lucie sang "The Glory of Love" to the newlyweds, and there wasn't a dry eye in the house.

But, bride Kate brought the house down when she, and her bridemaids did a Supremes number, right down to the matching choreography. Kate's lead vocals sounded like she was a Vegas headliner. I'm not kidding. She KILLED it!

The otter enjoyed the reception, too.

A prime example of the tradition and family and friends. Meet Wanda, Lucille Ball's secretary for decades, and Frank, her and the family's driver, also for decades. What kind souls they are.

Kate McAleer, Lucie's dresser and dear friend, with Jon Giswold, another close family friend.

So sorry about the lighting. Kate and Jeff at their table during dinner. The wedding rings of Lucy and Desi are around Kate's neck.

Who wouldn't want an Oreo cake????
WE ALL DID!!!!

And the next morning, Lucie and Larry hosted a brunch for the out-of-towners, bride and groom and immediate family members in the presidential suite of the Westin Hotel. It was floor to ceiling glass walls on the 47th floor and was the size of half a football field! That worked!

Lucie and Larry, you gave the most beautiful wedding. Every detail, every moment was filled with thought and love. May Kate and Jeff's marriage be as joyous and meaningful as yours.

ONCE AGAIN THE STUPID REPUBLICANS AND DEMOCRATS OF THE SENATE FAIL TO SUPPORT SOME SIMPLE LOGICAL GUN LAWS

Thank you Dianne

IF YOU ARE ON THE TERROR WATCH LIST YOU CAN'T BUY A GUN. SIMPLE. LOGICAL.

IF YOU WANT TO BUY A GUN YOU WOULD HAVE TO ALLOW THE SELLERS TO SEE IF YOU HAVE HAD ANY MENTAL PROBLEMS. SIMPLE. LOGICAL

AND THOSE PROPOSALS WERE DEFEATED. GOOD GOD!

Thank you Dianne Feinstein. Never give up.

NO ONE IS TRYING TO TAKE AWAY ANY GUNS FROM LAW-ABIDING CITIZENS, YOU MORONS.

KIM NOVAK'S FAVORITE THINGS--WALL STREET JOURNAL TODAY

FROM TODAY'S WALL STREET JOURNAL..........

Kim Novak’s Favorite Things

The Hollywood star and artist shares a few of her favorite things

SCROLL DOWN FOR STORY...

Photo: Nicole Jean Hill for WSJ. Magazine
“IT’S IMPORTANT FOR ME to live by water—you can see the river from my window. I used to live by the ocean in Big Sur, after I moved away from Hollywood in the ’60s. I’d been living in Bel Air when there was that big fire in 1961. Later there was a mudslide. My house washed away; my furs slid down the mountain. The studio gave me a van, and I packed what I could. But I remember all I wanted was a kosher pickle and a pastrami sandwich. So I got this sandwich from a deli, but they were out of pickles. I broke down. The man at the deli said, ‘Lady, what’s so important about a dill pickle?’ But, of course, it wasn’t about the pickle. Afterward, I drove down the coast for a time before pulling over and running naked into the surf. I cleansed myself of Hollywood in the water. The piece of driftwood on the table is from when I used to wander the beaches, painting and sculpting. The table, which features a beautiful bronze chimpanzee, comes from France and was sculpted during the art nouveau era. All my life, I’ve wanted a live chimpanzee—so when I saw this table I had to have it. On the left side of the tabletop is a book given to me by Henry Miller, one he wrote called To Paint Is to Love Again. We were kindred spirits, both inspired by nature. To the right are two rosaries, one belonging to my grandmother and one given to me by Pope John Paul II in 1991. I used to rest them on the lamp in the back. But I had a fire out here, too, and somehow the lamp broke through the window and the rosaries were thrown clear, out onto the grass. So much was destroyed, but the lamp and the rosaries survived. Behind the rosaries is a “minute box”—my husband and I had it made when we were married 40 years ago. We save up the minutes we owe each other from bets, like playing cards. To the right is a photograph of my goat, Creature, and me. After I left Hollywood, I didn’t trust people. The people you met there wanted to know you because of who you were or how much money you had. So I turned to animals, like my dog Patches on the right, because they don’t care who you are. The painting in the back is not completed yet. I painted as a young girl and got sidetracked by Hollywood, but I’ve returned to it. It’s so healing. Finally, there is a hummingbird pin beneath the lamp; Jimmy Stewart bought it from Alfred Hitchcock after Vertigo and gave it to me. I wore the pin on the gray suit in the film. I hated that gray suit!”

OUR NEW, VIOLENT WORLD---THE AGE OF RAGE

OUR WORLD IS AN UGLY ONE. IT IS FILLED WITH ANGRY PEOPLE WHO FLY OFF IN RAGES. IF THEY HAVE A GUN OR GUNS, DEATH IS SURE TO COME. AND IT'S NOT JUST ISLAMIC TERRORISTS, ALTHOUGH THEY ARE NO 1 ON THE LIST. IT'S JUST PEOPLE ON THE STREET, TOO.

In the past five days I have had strangers yell at me, and one even approached my car screaming. Each time it was terrifying because my first thought was, "Has he got a gun?" These people were young, white, American males, and they were filled with rage.

I have recently heard some women screaming at their manicurist or a saleslady if they perceive something to be wrong. Seemingly "normal" Americans are going insane with anger. Even children are violent to each other on schoolyards.

The world has gone mad.

It is a conflagration of poverty, alcohol, and drugs with both parents and kids; unchecked mental illness; violent video games; lack of a good school system; a total erasing of manners and civility, a complete lack of respect for our leaders and those running for office (mostly deserved, by the way) and depleted government systems (schools, hospitals) that have been destroyed by the influx of undocumented immigrants. Our doors have been too easy to get through.

Should automatic weapons like assault rifles be banned from the public at large? Yes, indeed. Should individual gun owners who pass tests and respect laws be able to have their guns? Yes, indeed. And, by the way, I have shot an AK47. It was at Camp Pendelton with the Marines. You feel a terrifying sense of power. I get the appeal to the crazies. It's very sick.

THERE WILL ALWAYS BE A WAY FOR BAD PEOPLE TO GET GUNS.

Our world, as we knew it growing up, is gone. You can't feel safe anywhere, and it's not an atomic bomb that's going to get you. It could be your own neighbor, a mentally-ill kid who takes a gun to school, or an Isis terrorist who decides to wear a suicide vest in Costco. You just don't know.

So.....too bad, but we have to take actions that may not seem that palatable. We DO have to prohibit certain groups from entering the United States in the usual process. We need to thoroughly vet immigrants from certain countries---and if it takes years to get in, it takes years. Political correctness can kill you. We must be very smart about it. We have to have much stronger military funding put back into our military and defense. No more Mr. Nice Guy. Peace is always the goal, but you'd better have some strong, armed military to keep it.

I want metal detectors at ALL stadiums, event places, and schools. If I had my way, there'd be metal detectors at Ralphs.

Israel has the right idea. Their security force is the best in the world. I'm happy to be inconvenienced if it will help me stay alive.

I am sick to my stomach about what is going on. I'm sick about murders of innocent people, from "Voice" singers, to people enjoying a night at a club, to workers in a building, kids at school, or anywhere a human is just living a life.

Ever since 9/11, I have deliberately stopped going to any gathering of what I consider to be a targeted group. I won't go to the L.A Philharmonic when the Israeli Philharmonic is playing. I won't go into certain religious buildings of worship. I won't go to concerts that could draw a violent audience. Some might say that I'm letting the terrorists win because I'm changing my lifestyle. So what? It's my life and I'm protecting it my way. You do what you want. Has our government found any way to stop these killings on our soil? No.

In the last ten months I have canceled trips to London, Paris, Brussels and New York (yes, I bought all of them before the Paris attacks.) I had fifth row center tickets to HAMILTON last December, and I never went to NY. Those prime seats sat empty because I didn't want to be in Times Square surrounded by police with uzis.

And what make me so sad, is that, with the exception of getting a ban on automatic weapons (thank you Dianne Feinstein for trying again), most of this doesn't matter. Anyone who wants to kill can get a gun. There is no law, no government, and no group or individual who can stop them.

This is our new reality, and I believe it's only going to get worse. The terrorists from the Middle East have been infiltrating us for years. Their cells are growing on the ground and over the internet. It is absolutely impossible to keep everyone safe anymore. Terrorists are the No. 1 problem, but it seems that the definition of a terrorist is rapidly being broadened from bearded Middle East guy to anyone anywhere in the world who is filled with rage and hatred. Terrorism has no typical face anymore.

God help us all, and God Bless America
