13 REASONS WHY CONTROVERSY

13 REASONS WHY IS ABSOLUTELY SUPERB

THIS FICTIONAL SHOW ABOUT THE SUICIDE OF YOUNG YOUNG GIRL HIGH SCHOOL STUDENT IS ONE OF THE BIGGEST DISCUSSIONS AROUND RIGHT BOW.

School districts all over the country are meeting about it deciding to either ban it, or embrace it by recommending it to parents to watch with their children. Many schools are having meetings with parents and students to talk about it.

The school board of Denver, Colorado is accusing the show of causing seven suicides among their students. That's ridiculous!

What the show is doing is putting attention on a horrible problem. I am in the middle of watching the series, so I don't know what the "take away" is, but I find the show riveting. And, in particular, the performances of the young actors. Katherine Langford plays the suicide victim, and there's no question she will have a gigantic career ahead of her. She's just been signed by WME, and it's important now what kinds of roles she chooses. I hope they don't direct her to teen things, and that they, instead, build her to a Marion Cotillard-Nicole Kidman-type career. She has it ALL.

Katherine Langford

Dylan Minnette, the young male lead, is extremely appealing and moving.

Minnette and Langford carry the heavy show on their shoulders.

I must say, after I questioned kids the age of the ones in the show, they were not at all shocked by the issues raised, and seemed to take the whole thing in stride. It is the adults who are worried about the effect on their kids. Netflix has been very responsible about the content, and I hope this show saves lives.
