AWARDS...AWARDS..........AWARDS

THE SEASON IS IN HIGH GEAR, AND I WAS RACING AROUND TO ALL THE SCREENINGS LIKE A MADWOMAN. THEN I SAID, "STOP."

I REALIZED I WASN'T HAVING A PARTICULARLY GOOD TIME. I THOUGHT ABOUT IT AND ASKED MYSELF THE QUESTION, "DID THIS MOVIE ENHANCE MY LIFE IN ANY WAY?"

I DECIDED THAT WOULD BE MY NEW CRITERIA FOR DECIDING WHETHER I WOULD GO OR NOT.

THIS ALL STARTED WHEN I WALKED OUT ON HUNGER GAMES. IT IS AN EXCELLENT MOVIE FOR A CERTAIN AGE RANGE AND REALLY WELL DONE BY EVERYONE. I LOVE JENNIFER LAWRENCE. BUT I DON'T NEED TO SIT THROUGH VIOLENT PASSAGE AFTER VIOLENT PASSAGE. I GOT THE DRIFT. GREAT. I'M HAPPY FOR THEIR SUCCESS.

THEN I WALKED OUT ON BLACK NATIVITY. IT'S A HORRIBLY-MADE AMATEURISH MOVIE. AGAIN, I HAD BETTER THINGS TO DO WITH MY TIME.

I LOOKED AT ALL THE SCREENING INVITATIONS AND DECIDED ACTUALLY WHAT I WOULD AND WOULDN'T SEE--EVEN IF IT HAD GREAT REVIEWS. ONE CRITERIA IS THAT I'M NOT INTERESTED IN MOVIES THAT KEEP GOING BACK TO BAD, SHAMEFUL AMERICAN HISTORY. I DON'T  NEED TO KEEP BEING REMINDED. I GOT THE MESSAGE LONG AGO.

SO..I WENT TO SEE SAVING MR. BANKS. IT'S MY FAVORITE MOVIE OF THE YEAR. I COULD SEE IT AGAIN AND AGAIN. IT MADE ME HAPPY. THE STORY ENRICHED MY LIFE. THE STUDY OF MRS. TRAVERS WAS SOMETHING I NEVER KNEW. I LOVED IT.

SEEING BLUE JASMINE IS GOOD BECAUSE OF THE PERFORMANCE OF CATE BLANCHETT. I AM ENRICHED BY HER TALENT.

THE WOLF OF WALL STREET WAS EXTREMELY ENTERTAINING AND REAL. TIME WELL SPENT.I HAVE NEVER BELIEVED LEO DICAPRIO AS A MAN. HE WAS ALWAYS WET BEHIND THE EARS IN EVERY PERFORMANCE. NOT THIS TIME.

AND WHEN YOU SEE A DOCUMENTARY LIKE 20 FEET FROM STARDOM, YOUR HEART IS TOUCHED, YOU LEARN, AND YOU ARE MOVED IN A GOOD WAY.
GOD BLESS YOU, DARLENE LOVE AND ALL THOSE GIRLS.

I AM ABSOLUTELY SEEING AUGUST OSAGE COUNTY AND DALLAS BUYERS CLUB AND AMERICAN HUSTLE.

BUT I AM NEVER FORCING MYSELF AGAIN TO GO TO SOMETHING THAT I DON'T NEED TO SEE. THERE ARE BETTER THINGS TO DO WITH MY TIME. HOW ARE YOU SPENDING YOUR TIME?
