THE SOUND OF MUSIC---LIVE

Mary Martin, Julie Andrews, Carrie Underwood

IT WOULD BE SO EASY TO RIP THIS APART, BUT WHY? I'M SO HAPPY THAT NBC GAVE THE MONEY TO DO THIS. I'M SO HAPPY THAT IT HAD HIGH RATINGS. I'M SO HAPPY THAT MORE LIVE MUSICALS MAY BE DONE FOR TV.

A LOT OF REVIEWERS HAVE THEIR MINDS MADE UP BEFORE SOMETHING EVEN AIRS. THIS SHOW WAS A PERFECT EXAMPLE OF THAT HAPPENING. WHAT AN EASY TARGET IT WAS. SO WHAT?

I ENJOYED MYSELF. I FORGAVE CARRIE UNDERWOOD FOR HER "GREEN" ACTING PERFORMANCE. SHE WAS JUST FINE...CONSIDERING, AND SHE HAS A TERRIFIC VOICE. LAURA BENANTI STOLE IT ANYWAY. AND AUDRA MCDONALD'S VOICE WAS PERFECT, AS USUAL. IT WAS NICE TO SEE CHRISTIAN BORLE FROM "SMASH."

IT WASN'T A MOVIE, PEOPLE! SETS LOOKED LIKE SETS. THE MUSIC SOUND WAS NOT MIXED WELL AND SOUNDED, FOR THE MOST PART, DEAD. STEPHEN MOYER SHOULD NEVER SING IN PUBLIC AGAIN.

BUT, I REPEAT. I HAD A LOVELY TIME WATCHING. CONGRATULATIONS TO CAST AND CREW FOR HAVING THE GUTS TO DO THIS.
