MY CONFESSION: I'M A LITTLE BIT IN LOVE WITH BILLY STRITCH

Here's Billy now!

I SHOT THIS OF BILLY SATURDAY NIGHT

Billy Stritch, for the three people who may not know,  is a singer, composer, arranger, Grammy-winner and accompanist. His big break came when Liza Minnelli walked into a bar...(I know...) and discovered him playing piano. He became her accompanist and was discovered in a big way.

Billy and Cast Party's Jim Caruso now play frequently in Bemelman's Bar at the Carlyle. Billy also has a full scheudle with his own appearances and records, plus he continues to accompany his "great ladies."

When Billy plays the piano, or plays and sings, and I can't keep my eyes off him. His focus, passion, and emotions are all over his face. His eyes twinkle--he gets all the jokes--and he's so beautifully happy all the time. He was in Los Angeles to be with Linda Lavin for her Catalina debut.
Linda Lavin
Linda has a tremendous "New York history," and so many of the people I see in clubs in New York were here to celebrate with her...like Michele Lee, Bob Mackie, Roslyn Kind, Dan Glosser, Michael Stern, and Jackie Joseph.

The Catalina Bar and Grill, (thank you Manny and Catalina)in fact, has become a home away from home for those of us who live here who miss New York. It's like a clubhouse. This coming Friday Megan Hilty will be making her L.A. club debut there. The gang, I'm sure, will be out in force.
