HERE'S A PET PEEVE THAT DRIVES ME INSANE

SO-AND-SO HAS LOST HIS/HER BATTLE WITH CANCER. THAT MAKES ME NUTS.

That sounds like all people who die of cancer are losers. Are people who only die of heart attacks winners????? Accident victims????

I've known too many people who've died of cancer, most of them at age-INAPPROPRIATE numbers. Every single time in print or on TV, the death is announced as a lost battle.

I don't think death is a win or lose proposition. We all are going to die. Stop making us winners and losers in death, too.
