WHAT A PAIR 10TH ANNIVERSARY

CEDARS' BREAST CANCER CHARITY, BENEFIT, "WHAT A PAIR," IS ONE OF MY FAVORITE MUSICAL EVENINGS OF THE YEAR. I THINK I'VE SEEN NINE OF THE TEN.

"WHAT A PAIR" featured pairs of women singers doing Broadway ballads, pop songs, and blues. This year's event, held at the Saban Theatre, was a "Best of" event, featuring the best pairs and songs of the past ten years.

The women who appear in this show have extraordinary voices, and each duo knocks it out of the park. The participants are series stars, Broadway babies, record artists........to a Miss America, Mary Ann Mobley. Mobley and Sara Neimeitz sang "Heart Hearted Hannah" in red beaded dresses.

Some of my favorite people in the world do this show---Joely Fisher, Lily Haydn, Valarie Pettiford, Loretta Devine, Jennifer Leigh Warren, Maggie Wheeler, Kathleen Wilhoite and Lili Haydn. You're going to hear more about Lili in an upcoming blog. All these ladies' performances gave me goosebumps. I wish the Tony Awards show was as good as this.

There was a party afterward at the theatre, and then some of us continued to the Montage Beverly Hills where we sat outside with heaters under a beautiful sky.
